High-Level Meeting at Punjab Home Department to Review Arrangements for the 556th Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji

A meeting was held at the Home Department, Punjab, regarding the arrangements for the 556th Birth Anniversary celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The meeting was attended by the Provincial Minister for Minorities Affairs and President of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora; Chairman, Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), Dr. Sajid Mahmood Chauhan; Secretary Home Department, Punjab, Dr. Ahmad Javed Qazi; Special Secretary Fazal-ur-Rehman; Additional Secretary Shrines, Nasir Mushtaq; Secretary Human Rights and Minorities Affairs; Commissioner Lahore, along with Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, RPOs, and DPOs of the relevant districts.

Additional Secretary Shrines, Nasir Mushtaq, gave a detailed briefing on the arrangements made for the Sikh pilgrims. He informed that foolproof security, medical facilities, transport, and quality accommodation were being ensured for the Yatrees. Continuous supply of gas and electricity at Gurdwara Janam Asthan and all other Gurdwaras would also be guaranteed.

Provincial Minister and PSGPC President Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora directed all departments to complete the arrangements in time to ensure the best possible facilities for the pilgrims. He said, “This matter concerns Pakistan’s honor — no negligence will be tolerated.” He further directed the FIA to establish additional counters to expedite the immigration process. The sale of items prohibited in the Sikh religion would be banned in the vicinity of the Gurdwaras.

Chairman ETPB, Dr. Sajid Mahmood Chauhan, said that respect for religion and hospitality are our traditions. Despite the prevailing situation between Pakistan and India, we will extend even greater respect, love, and hospitality to our Sikh guests than before. He added that we want our Sikh brothers to feel at home here. The Chairman also proposed that Pakistani Sikh doctors should volunteer their services to provide medical facilities to the pilgrims during the celebrations.

Additional Secretary Shrines, Nasir Mushtaq, emphasized that a zero-tolerance policy would be adopted regarding the security of Sikh pilgrims. He informed that the celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s 556th Birth Anniversary will be held from 4th to 13th November, with the main ceremony on 5th November at Gurdwara Janam Asthan, Nankana Sahib. Thousands of Sikh pilgrims from all over the world, including 3,000 from India under the bilateral agreement, will participate in this religious festival. The Yatrees will also visit Gurdwara Janam Asthan Nankana Sahib, Sacha Sauda Farooqabad, Gurdwara Panja Sahib Hassan Abdal, Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur, Gurdwara Rohri Sahib Eminabad, and other historical Gurdwaras in Lahore.

✨ Preparations for Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s 556th Birth Anniversary ✨

A high-level meeting was held at the ETPB Head Office to review arrangements for the upcoming celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s 556th birth anniversary.

متروکہ وقف املاک بورڈ کے ہیڈ آفس میں بابا گورو نانک دیو جی کے 556ویں جنم دن کی تقریبات کے انتظامات کے سلسلے میں اعلیٰ سطحی اجلاس منعقد ہوا۔ اجلاس کی صدارت ایڈیشنل سیکرٹری شرائنز ناصر مشتاق نے کی، جبکہ چیئرمین متروکہ وقف املاک بورڈ ڈاکٹر ساجد محمود چوہان نے ویڈیو لنک کے ذریعے خصوصی طور پر شرکت کی۔
اجلاس میں پولیس، رینجرز، کسٹمز، امیگریشن، ریسکیو 1122، لیسکو، سوئی گیس، محکمہ صحت اور ڈسٹرکٹ پولیس آفیسر ، ضلعی و صوبائی انتظامی اداروں کے نمائندوں نے شرکت کی۔ اجلاس کے دوران سکھ یاتریوں کی آمد، قیام و طعام، رسومات کی ادائیگی، سفری سہولیات اور فول پروف سیکورٹی انتظامات کا تفصیلی جائزہ لیا گیا۔
چیئرمین ڈاکٹر ساجد محمود چوہان نے اجلاس سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ مذہبی عبادات اور یاترا کی آزادی انسانی و مذہبی حقوق کا بنیادی حصہ ہے۔ہم پر امید ہیں کہ زیادہ سے زیادہ بھارتی سکھ یاتری بابا گورو نانک دیو جی کے جنم دن کی تقریبات میں شریک ہوں گےپاکستان ہمیشہ کی طرح بھارت سمیت دنیا بھر سے آنے والے سکھ یاتریوں کی بھرپور میزبانی کرے گا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ تمام متعلقہ ادارے متروکہ وقف املاک بورڈ اور پاکستان سکھ گوردوارہ پربندھک کمیٹی کے ساتھ شانہ بشانہ کھڑے ہیں اور بہترین سہولیات کی فراہمی کو یقینی بنایا جائے گا۔
ایڈیشنل سیکرٹری شرائنز ناصر مشتاق نے کہا کہ یاتریوں کے لیے میڈیکل سہولیات، قیام و طعام اور سفری سہولتوں کو مزید بہتر بنایا جا رہا ہے اور اس مقصد کے لیے بہترین ایئر کنڈیشنڈ بسیں فراہم کی جائیں گی۔ امیگریشن ،بجلی سوئی گیس کی متواتر فراہمی کی سہولیات کو یقینی بنایا جائے گا ۔یاتریوں کے لیے تمام رہائیشی مقامات پر میڈیکل کی سہولیت میسر ہو ں گی جبکہ ریسکیو 1122 کی دوخصوصی ایمبو لینس یاتریوں کےہر 20 بسوں کے قافلوں کے ہمراہ موجود ہوں گی۔ تمام مقامات پر ڈینگی سے بچاو کے لیے اسپرے کروائے جائیں گے۔ جنم دن کے موقع پر گورو دواہ جنم استھان ،گوردوارہ پنجہ صاحب ،گورو دوارہ ڈیرہ صاحب سمیت دیگر مذہبی عبادت گاہوں کو خوبصورت روشنیوں سے سجایا جائے گا ۔انہوں نے کہا کہ پاکستان ہمیشہ سے سکھ یاتریوں کی دل کھول کر میزبانی کرتا رہا ہے اور اس بار بھی یاتری پاکستان سے محبت اور خوشگوار یادوں کے ساتھ واپس جائیں گے۔
اجلاس کو بتایا گیا کہ دوطرفہ معاہدے کے تحت جنم دن کی تقریبات کے لیے تقریباً 3 ہزار سکھ یاتری ہر سال پاکستان آتے ہیں۔ طے شدہ شیڈول کے مطابق یاتری 4 نومبر کو واہگہ بارڈر کے راستے پاکستان پہنچیں گے جہاں پر انکا پر تپاک اور آرام دہ استقبال کیا جائے گا ۔امیگریشن مکمل ہونے کے بعد یاتریوں کو سخت سیکورٹی میں براہ راست ننکانہ صاحب گوردوارہ جنم استھان منتقل کیا جائے گا۔ بابا گورو نانک دیو جی کے 556ویں جنم دن کی مرکزی تقریب 5 نومبر کو گوردوارہ جنم استھان ننکانہ صاحب میں منعقد ہوگی۔

Chairman’s visit to Gurdwara Janam Asthan Nankana Sahib and Gurdwara Dera Sahib Lahore to review administrative arrangements

An important meeting was held at the Head Office of the Evacuee Trust Property Board under the chairmanship of Dr. Sajid Mahmood Chohan, to review arrangements for the 556th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

During the meeting, Additional Secretary Shrines, Nasir Mushtaq, briefed that final arrangements were being made for the facilitation of Sikh pilgrims, including accommodation, security, transportation, and hospitality. He added that all possible steps will be taken to ensure the pilgrims are warmly welcomed.

Chairman ETPB Dr. Sajid Mahmood Chohan directed that clean and well-maintained accommodation, quality food, medical facilities, and transport services must be provided to the yatrees. He emphasized that close coordination with police and other relevant institutions should be maintained to ensure pilgrims can perform their religious rituals without fear or difficulty.

A special administrative meeting will also be held on October 2 at the ETPB Head Office, where all concerned departments will participate to finalize the arrangements for the yatrees arriving from India and across the globe.

The central ceremony of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s 556th birth anniversary will be held on November 5 at Gurdwara Janam Asthan Nankana Sahib with great devotion and reverence, where Sikh pilgrims from all over the world will participate in the religious rituals.

In this regard, Chairman ETPB along with Additional Secretary Shrines Nasir Mushtaq visited Gurdwara Janam Asthan Nankana Sahib, where Secretary Board Fareed Iqbal, XEN, and SD Technical were also present. They reviewed the ongoing arrangements and directed that no effort should be spared in serving the yatrees. The Chairman also inspected the proposed site for the “Guru Nanak Village” and instructed the Administrator to give special attention to its preparations.

Furthermore, the Chairman visited Gurdwara Dera Sahib Lahore, where he stressed upon ensuring foolproof security arrangements, proper lighting and electricity supply, provision of clean drinking water, cleanliness, parking facilities, and other conveniences for the pilgrims.

The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) has approved the Baba Guru Nanak Scholarship Program worth Rs. 5 million for Hindu and Sikh students.

Chairman ETPB, Dr. Sajid Mehmood Chauhan, approved the release of payments for the third and fourth quarters in line with the decision of the Board’s 353rd meeting. In this regard, a meeting was held at the Board’s head office in Lahore under the chairmanship of Dr. Sajid Mehmood Chauhan, which was attended by Additional Secretary Shrines Nasir Mushtaq, Secretary Pakistan Model Educational Institutions Foundation Sanaullah Khan, Chief Controller Accounts Adeel Ahmed, and other officials.

According to the decision, students will receive a monthly scholarship of Rs. 10,000 to help them continue their education despite financial challenges. The initiative aims to provide higher education opportunities to minority youth and promote educational growth among them.
