Chairman ETP Board Syed Atta-ur-Rehman has said that properties managed by the Trust Board are being presented for development, which will increase the department’s income. A huge amount will be spent on the renovation and construction of temples and shrines as per the laws under the master plan. He was addressing the members of the Board before the 357th meeting. The meeting was attended by Hindu and Sikh members from all over the country, as well as government and non-government members. Secretary Board Farid Iqbal gave a complete briefing to the members.
The Secretary Board said that according to the instructions of the Chairman Board, after changing the scheme to increase the department’s income, the trust properties managed by ETPB are being presented for development. The department’s revenue will increase four fold by giving such lands that were not used for a long time for development.
The meeting was attended by Imran Rashid Addition Secretary (Ministry for religious affairs and interfaith harmony) Board Members Akhtar Nawaz Janjua, Javeria Ghazanfar Sahrudi, Rana Mujeeb Afzal Khan, Sohail Raza, Kripa Singh, Krishan Lal, Pratab Singh, Masal Kaur, Pirzada Muhammad Tayyab Amin, Sardar Bhagat Singh, besides Chief Controller Accounts Adeel Ahmed, Director Legal Uzma Shahzadi, Additional Secretary Admin Sanaullah Khan, Additional Secretary Saifullah Khokhar.
On the first day of the two-day meeting, the agenda item regarding the presentation of existing trust properties across Pakistan for development through government/private organizations was discussed. The agenda of investing the department’s surplus funds in financial institutions was discussed. The agenda items discussed included hiring a project director for development, development and renovation works in various temples and gurudwaras, and operational work at PMU Kartarpur.
